Activities of the Society: Enrolment of new Members

           15th May, 1967 — Rev. Paul Pisani, O.F.M.Conv.

           22nd November, 1967 — Dr. V. Captur, M.D.; Mr. George Sammut, and Mr. P.P. Sultana.

           General Meetings and Reading of Papers.

           30th January, 1967: Sixty eighth General Meeting of the Society held at St. Francis Convent, Valletta. The President read his annual report in which he outlined the activities of the Society during 1966.

           The Secretary, on behalf of the Treasurer absent, read the report on the financial position of the Society. The receipts during 1966, amounted to £65. 11s. 10d., while the expenditure during the same time was £87. 11s. 1d. Balance in hand amounted to £52. 2s. 7d. The Secretary, then read the minutes of the previous meetings, which were approved.

           Fr. Fiorini, seconded by Fr. S. Zarb, O.P., proposed as President of the Society, Mgr. Prof. A. Bonnici, founder of the Society. The motion was approved unanimously.

           An election by secret ballot for eight members to form the Committee for 1967, was held with the following result:

           Rev. Chev. B. Fiorini; Dr. P. Cassar, M.D.; Dr. A. Ganado, LL.D.; Chev. V. Bonello; Chev. V. Denaro; V. Rev. Prof. S. Zarb, O.P.; Mr. F.X. Mallia; and Rev. Can. V. Borg.

           30th March, 1967: Sixty ninth General Meeting of the Society held jointly with the Malta Archaeological Circle at the British Council. A lecture was delivered by Mr. F.X. Mallia, Curator of Archaeology on “800-100 B.C. — A Period of Transition.”

           29th May, 1967: Seventieth General Meeting of the Society, held at the Catholic Institute, Floriana. Chev. Vincenzo Bonello, delivered a talk on “Gli Onorati di Valletta.”

           8th November, 1967 — 71st Meeting of the Society held at the Catholic Institute, Floriana. The V. Rev. Can. V. Borg delivered a talk on “The Holy See and the Fortifications in Malta between 1624-1638.”
